🌟 New beginnings in Solon

Portage County • January 1, 2025

Good morning, Portage County. After a two-year game of musical chairs in Solon's planning department, Mike Ionna has finally claimed the director's seat, bringing fresh energy and big dreams for everything from trail connections to the Liberty Ford site makeover. It's like when that one friend finally finds their dream job - suddenly everything seems possible, especially with his open-door policy that's more "welcome mat" than "keep out" sign.

In bittersweet community news, we've bid farewell to Jacqueline Irwin, whose 25-year tenure as Chardon Schools' secretary and legendary baking skills made her the unofficial grandmother to countless students. And speaking of spreading warmth, this Thursday's Pop-Up Food Pantry in Ravenna is ready to help local families stock their shelves during these chilly winter days.
