Ohio University-Chillicothe nursing students will host a Community Health Fair on October 14, 2025, from 10am to 4pm at Bennett Hall. The event will feature educational booths on topics including hygiene, internet safety, opioid overdose recognition, heart health, and nutrition. Ross County Health District will offer Flu and COVID-19 vaccines during the fair and the following day, accepting most insurance plans with a $30 cost otherwise. The fair provides nursing students practical experience while serving the community through interactive health education exhibits.
π Chillicothe police responded to 16 incidents in single October day. Officers handled a range of situations including criminal trespass, vehicle theft, and domestic violence across the city on Saturday, October 4. One serious incident involved a woman reporting her boyfriend pointed a gun at her, resulting in an arrest. Police also made multiple warrant arrests, including Salena Mitchell who was transferred to Ross County Jail for failing to appear on a fictitious registration charge.
