Good morning, Pike County. Mark your calendars for a vital community resource heading our way! Ohio University-Chillicothe nursing students are transforming Bennett Hall into a comprehensive health hub on October 14, offering everything from hygiene education to opioid response training. The timing couldn't be better, with Ross County Health District providing flu and COVID vaccines during the eventβ€”a perfect opportunity to protect yourself before winter illness season arrives in full force.

Local law enforcement certainly had their hands full earlier this month, with Chillicothe police responding to 16 incidents in a single October day. The flurry of activity included everything from trespassing calls to a domestic situation involving a firearm. Meanwhile, Ross County Republicans are hitting the campaign trail hard, hosting neighborhood meet-and-greets like their recent gathering at Yaple's Orchard where candidates connected directly with Second Ward constituents ahead of the approaching fall elections.
