Volunteer-led and open to women of all backgrounds, the $20 event features speaker Jamie Fearon discussing the Geology of the Rocky Fork Gorge Region. Participants will enjoy a bring-your-own picnic lunch followed by a scenic autumn hike through the sanctuary. The facility, located in the former Area Agency on Aging office, features an art studio for creative expression and hand coordination development. A "Project Connect" area provides transitional work training in five essential job skills: cash register operation, stocking, production, janitorial work, and customer service. The center includes innovative learning tools like a "Goodwill bank" where clients earn currency for kind acts to learn budgeting, plus virtual reality stations for developing coordination. Additional life skills training includes hygiene education and laundry management to prepare clients for greater independence.

Caden Corkerton earned medalist honors at the Portsmouth Invitational on July 31 after carding a 76 and winning a playoff hole at the Elks Country Club. His stellar performance highlighted Waverly's season-opening tournament, where the Tigers finished 16th overall with a team score of 399. Teammates Teagan Hurt (98), Emmitt Price (111), and Carter Carroll (114) rounded out the scoring for Waverly. The team will continue their season Friday morning at the Chillicothe Country Club.
