Good morning, Pike County. The crown has found a new home as Willow Kirkbride steps into her reign as the 2025 Feast of the Flowering Moon queen, with Emma Howard taking the First Attendant honor. Families gathered for commemorative photos at the courthouse following the ceremony, capturing the beginning of what promises to be a memorable year for these young women representing our community traditions.

Meanwhile, dramatic scenes unfolded at a local railway crossing where a Norfolk Southern train collided with a truck, sending the driver to Grant Medical Center with serious injuries. On a more forward-looking note, the transformation of the former Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant presents exciting economic possibilities, with upcoming open houses in Piketon and Portsmouth showcasing everything from uranium enrichment operations to innovative energy projects—a rare chance to witness history evolving into future opportunity right in our backyard.
