🏥 Medical makeover

Pike County • March 14, 2025

Good morning, Pike County. In a single whirlwind day, Chillicothe police officers became the definition of multitasking as they tackled everything from traffic violations to counterfeit currency investigations during their March 12 enforcement blitz. While officers were processing multiple drug-related arrests and serving warrants across the city, a more alarming incident unfolded nearby when a Greenfield woman allegedly broke into a residence and stabbed the homeowner in what authorities suspect was a narcotics-influenced attack.

On a more promising note, healthcare in the region is poised for a dramatic transformation with plans for a massive 75,000-square-foot medical center breaking ground this July. The Chillicothe Medical and Surgical Center, set to open by September 2026, will bring specialized care including orthopedics, podiatry, and neurosurgery to southern Ohio residents—offering a healing counterpoint to the week's more troubling headlines.
