Pike County • March 12, 2025
Good morning, Pike County. The threads that weave a community together are often most visible in times of transition. Today, the Oak Hill community says farewell to 80-year-old Paul Wallace, Sr., whose legacy lives on through four generations of family. As one chapter closes, another inspiring story unfolds with Teela Pierce Woofter, who transformed pandemic-era career obstacles into an unexpected leadership role at Atomic Credit Union, where she now helps others build financial stability.
Meanwhile, a fascinating time capsule from 2005 has opened a window to Chillicothe's theatrical past. Photos capturing the high school's production of "Inherit the Wind" – which became their final show that year after a failed school levy – along with snapshots of donkey basketball at Piketon High and community poker tournaments offer a nostalgic glimpse of life just two decades ago. Some things change, while others remain wonderfully familiar.
