Good morning, Pickaway County. The dining landscape around Columbus is heating up with some fresh arrivals on the horizon. Award-winning burger chain Dog Haus is firing up the grill with plans for four new locations, including one in the Gateway University District where they'll serve their signature all-beef creations on King's Hawaiian rolls. Meanwhile, Dutch Bros Coffee is brewing excitement with its second Columbus-area drive-thru, joining the growing caffeine competition targeting Central Ohio's coffee enthusiasts.

On a more sobering note, thousands of refugees in Franklin County have lost crucial SNAP benefits, leaving over 4,000 individuals—including 1,700 children and 300 seniors—facing difficult choices between food and other necessities. County officials are highlighting partnerships with local food pantries to help bridge the gap while exploring additional support options for affected residents. The stark contrast between new business growth and community challenges reflects the complex reality of our region's ongoing development.

🍽️ Thousands of Columbus refugees lose crucial SNAP benefits. Over 4,000 refugees, including 1,700 children and 300 seniors in Franklin County, have been cut off from food assistance they relied on. County officials, including Board President Erica Crawley, emphasize that these families now face impossible choices between food and other necessities like housing and healthcare. Commissioners are highlighting collaboration with local food pantries to ensure affected families can still access nutritious foods. The county is exploring all available options to support residents impacted by these benefit changes.
