Good morning, Pickaway County. The sidewalks of Columbus are becoming an urban battleground as abandoned scooters create mounting frustration for pedestrians and drivers alike. Former scooter enthusiast David Hunegnaw has switched sides after witnessing dangerous riding behaviors, now advocating for a straightforward solution: ticket the companies directly when their vehicles obstruct public spaces. By hitting corporate pocketbooks, he believes both riders and businesses would finally take sidewalk clutter seriously.

On brighter notes, the Circleville Lady Tigers are swinging their way to victory, edging out Logan Elm by just six strokes in their latest MSL golf match. Isabelle Perini's outstanding 73 led the team to triumph at The View Golf Club. Meanwhile, a sobering reminder of road safety comes from north Columbus, where a Saturday morning motorcycle-Jeep collision near OSU left one person fighting for their life at Wexner Medical Center.

πŸ›΄ Columbus scooter chaos sparks call for stricter enforcement. David Hunegnaw, a former scooter enthusiast, changed his mind after witnessing dangerous riding behaviors and a personal incident where a scooter rider hit his car. He criticizes the growing problem of abandoned scooters cluttering sidewalks and public spaces throughout Columbus. Hunegnaw proposes a simple solution: ticket the scooter companies directly when their vehicles block sidewalks, ADA access, or entrances. By creating financial consequences, he argues, both riders and companies would be incentivized to manage scooters more responsibly.
