Good morning, Pickaway County. Mark your calendars for a historic birthday bash that's been 250 years in the making. Ohio's semiquincentennial celebration in 2026 is shaping up to be an extraordinary statewide party, with heritage tree plantings, Revolutionary War grave mappings, and special events planned across all 88 counties. While the planning committee works to showcase Ohio's contributions to American history, it's a reminder of how our communities come together to celebrate our shared heritage.

On a more immediate note, a serious accident on I-71 Thursday morning left two people injured when their disabled vehicle was struck near 17th Avenue. And if you're looking to test your heat tolerance this summer, Columbus has you covered. From Mean Mug's aptly named "Mistress Pain" to The Filling Station's ghost pepper-infused "911" wings, local restaurants are serving up chicken wings so fiery they might just make you forget about the humidity altogether.
