Good morning, Pickaway County. After seven years at the helm, Columbus Regional Airport Authority CEO Joseph Nardone is hanging up his wings following a record-breaking run. Under his leadership, John Glenn International welcomed 9.2 million passengers last year—its busiest ever—while securing an impressive $1.2 billion in bond funding for a new terminal without tapping taxpayer dollars. His steady hand also guided our airports through the pandemic, when Rickenbacker became a crucial lifeline distributing emergency supplies.

Meanwhile, a significant change takes effect today in Ohio's higher education landscape. The state's ban on university DEI programs moves forward after petition organizers fell short of collecting the 250,000 signatures needed to challenge the law. The legislation eliminates diversity programs at public universities and prohibits faculty strikes, marking a substantial shift in how Ohio's colleges operate—and sparking intense debate about academic freedom on campuses statewide.

📚 Ohio's ban on college DEI programs will proceed as planned. Organizers announced Thursday that their petition drive to repeal the controversial law fell short of collecting the necessary 250,000 signatures. The legislation, which takes effect Friday, eliminates diversity programs at public universities and prohibits faculty strikes. It also bans schools from endorsing "controversial topics" including climate policies, electoral politics, and immigration. Supporters claim the law protects "intellectual diversity," while thousands of educators and students have protested it as government overreach into academic freedom.
