Good morning, Pickaway County. Remember when a night at the movies was the highlight of summer? That nostalgic experience is making an affordable comeback this season. Columbus cinephiles can choose between CAPA's Summer Movie Series at the Ohio Theatre—offering 28 classics for just $6 per ticket—or Gateway Film Center's "From Book to Film" series, where your library card grants free admission every Saturday through Labor Day weekend. From silent films of the 1920s to recent releases, the big screen beckons without breaking the bank.

While movie buffs plan their summer viewing schedules, significant developments unfold across the community. Columbus City Council has approved a $2.5 million fire truck purchase following earlier union disputes, addressing what firefighters describe as an approaching fleet "crisis." On a brighter note, the Adena Health Foundation has awarded 29 scholarships to future healthcare professionals across their nine-county service area, investing in local talent to fill the projected 1.9 million annual healthcare job openings nationwide.
