Good morning, Pickaway County. In a startling case of mistaken identity, a local man fired multiple shots at what he thought was a coyote attacking his dog, only to discover he had tragically killed "Cyclone," a neighbor's beloved miniature horse. The 29-year-old has taken responsibility and now faces misdemeanor charges including animal cruelty, with a court date set for later this month.

Meanwhile, the community bids farewell to Cora Maxine Gumm-Davis, whose 85 years were marked by devotion to family and faith after two loving marriages. Her passing comes as Circleville Tigers baseball fans have reason to celebrateβ€”the team secured an impressive 8-2 victory over rival Logan Elm on Monday. The win gives local sports enthusiasts something to cheer about as spring baseball season hits its stride across the county.

🐎 Ohio man shoots neighbor's pony thinking it was attacking his dog. Kyle Hansen, 29, confessed to firing his 9mm handgun "six or seven times" at what he believed was a coyote harming his pet in the early morning darkness. Hansen later realized he had killed a miniature horse named "Cyclone" after seeing a Facebook post about the incident. He messaged the owners taking responsibility and offering compensation, saying his dog had accidentally entered the pony's pen. Hansen now faces misdemeanor charges including animal cruelty and criminal trespassing, with a court appearance scheduled for April 17.
