🌳 ODNR secures funds in timber theft case. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) received a ruling from the Pickaway County Common Pleas Court, resulting in a $85,805.98 award against three defendants who illegally harvested over 300 trees from state land. John C. Knauff, Joseph Knauff, and Jonathan Knauff admitted to cutting down the 315 trees and later selling the timber for profit. The court found them liable for trespassing and unjust enrichment, affirming ODNR's commitment to safeguarding Ohio's natural resources. As ODNR Director Mary Mertz noted, this case underscores the serious nature of timber theft and the agency's determination to protect the state's tree legacy.
