Good morning, Perry County. The rhythmic movements of centuries-old Thai classical dance will soon grace Ohio University Lancaster as the Moradokmai Theatre troupe from Bangkok brings their cultural artistry to campus. This rare April 17 workshop offers locals a chance to learn traditional movements directly from students trained by a Thai National Artist before enjoying a live performance that bridges continents. The event continues a meaningful cultural exchange that has connected our region with Thailand through previous study abroad collaborations.

Meanwhile, Canal Winchester's rural landscape could be transforming as Wilcox Communities seeks approval for "Miller Farms," a 450-unit development spanning 95 acres with homes ranging from $300,000 townhouses to $500,000 single-family residences. In less uplifting news, justice caught up with former Pickerington resident Sally Njume-Tatsing, who received a 42-year sentence for orchestrating an elaborate $5.7 million Medicaid fraud scheme through her home health companies.

Participants will learn fundamental movements and techniques of this centuries-old art form, guided by talented students trained by Thai National Artist "Kru Chang" Janaprakal Chandruang. Following the workshop, the students will perform various traditional Thai dance styles accompanied by live music. The event strengthens ongoing cultural exchange between Ohio University and the Thai theatre group, which previously collaborated with students during study abroad programs.

🏑 Canal Winchester farmland could transform into 450-unit residential community. Worthington-based Wilcox Communities is seeking to rezone 95 acres near Lithopolis and Oregon roads for a development called Miller Farms. The project would include 118 single-family homes priced around $500,000, 221 ranch-style apartments renting at $2,000 monthly, and 105 townhomes starting at $300,000. Plans have evolved significantly since 2023, notably dropping an originally proposed commercial component. The proposal still requires final approval from Canal Winchester City Council before construction can begin.
