Perry County • April 10, 2025

Good morning, Perry County. The New Lexington Panthers' softball squad is looking to break their rival curse after Monday's nail-biting 4-3 loss to the undefeated Crooksville Ceramics. While Faith Greene and Jorja Burkhart delivered solid performances, the team now sits at 3-3 with redemption on their minds for Wednesday's rematch. Meanwhile, April's civic calendar is filling up faster than a church potluck, with county commissioners, village councils, and school boards all scheduled to meet throughout the month.

In the courthouse, Judge Cooperrider's approach to juvenile justice continues to blend consequences with compassion. Recent cases saw teens facing everything from license suspensions to treatment programs for various offenses, while the court also resolved several Children Services cases, reuniting families under supervision. The free legal clinic also provided much-needed assistance to residents navigating divorce, eviction, and visitation challenges.
