Good morning, Muskingum County. A century-old architectural gem is getting its second act in Newark. The Sullivan Building—once home to everything from a bank to an ice cream parlor—has undergone a remarkable $14 million transformation into a tourism hub. When doors reopen on October 27, visitors will discover hand-stenciled murals, serpentine stone details, and even a preserved Diebold safe that whispers stories from 1914, all while the building begins its newest chapter as a self-sustaining public space.

Meanwhile, bittersweet emotions swept across local sports fields as Steubenville's soccer season concluded with a narrow 2-1 playoff loss to John Glenn, ending the high school careers of five seniors who leave behind an impressive legacy. In Barnesville, celebration was in the air as AJ Empeno received the homecoming queen's crown during Friday night's football festivities, while Brilliant's American Legion brought smiles back to the community by resuming their popular weekly fish fries.
