Good morning, Muskingum County. The rivalry between Newark and Zanesville took a decisive turn last week as the Wildcats unleashed an offensive storm, drowning the Blue Devils 52-20 at Sulsberger Stadium. Jason Giblin's two touchdown catches highlighted an impressive aerial attack, while the ground game flourished with explosive runs from Peterson and Irvin-Royster. Even the defense got in on the scoring action when Brody Randall tackled a Zanesville ball carrier in the end zone for a safety.

Meanwhile, northeast Ohio drivers should brace for detours as major road closures begin Monday. Both Ohio Route 44 in Portage County and U.S. Route 322 in Ashtabula County will be shuttered for culvert replacements through September. Closer to home, the community calendar is filling up with meaningful events, from the Walk to End Alzheimer's at Zane State College to Roseville Fire Department's 140th anniversary celebration – both happening September 13.
