Muskingum County • August 8, 2025
Good morning, Muskingum County. Hollywood has come to our fairgrounds! The 179th Muskingum County Fair will feature a star with Netflix credentials – Frightful the peregrine falcon, who appeared alongside Kevin Bacon in "Sirens." This feathered celebrity headlines Jonathan Wood's "Extreme Raptors" show, where about a dozen birds of prey will demonstrate their impressive skills throughout the fair's run from August 10-16.
Beyond the raptor excitement, the fair promises a week packed with entertainment including firefighter demonstrations, livestock competitions, and musical performances. Special admission days honor veterans, seniors, and community giving through the Stock the Trailer food drive. Meanwhile, our community faces a somber moment as we remember Mary Russell of McConnelsville, who lost her life in a multi-vehicle crash on Ohio 60 last week. The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues investigating the incident that injured three others.
