Muskingum County • May 5, 2025
Good morning, Muskingum County. A small-town gymnast making national waves – that's the story of Zanesville's own Ady Wahl, who recently vaulted her way to All-American status at the University of Georgia. The sophomore standout described her exceptional performance as "an out-of-body experience," representing our community on collegiate gymnastics' biggest stage. Meanwhile, local track stars shined just as brightly at the Dan Adams Invitational, with Zanesville's Cam Willett dominating hurdles and multiple athletes from West Muskingum, River View, and John Glenn claiming impressive victories.
For those seeking a different kind of journey, the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum has reopened its doors, offering a glimpse into 19th century opulence. The meticulously preserved 26-room residence, built at what would be $2 million today, features innovations like dual gas-electric lighting installed before electricity even reached town. New displays of period party attire and a collection of 100 historic hats make this season's exhibit particularly fascinating for history enthusiasts.
