Good morning, Meigs County. The temperature may be dropping, but community warmth is on full display this week. WVU Medicine Camden Clark's Health & Wellness Day returns Saturday, offering everything from free blood pressure checks to discounted lab work vouchers that benefit community outreach. For families making a day of it, children can tour ambulances and bring stuffed animals to the Teddy Bear Clinic—proving that preventative healthcare doesn't have to be a chore.
That same spirit of compassion flows through Lou Thomas Subaru's donation of 100 blankets and care packages to local cancer patients. The simple comfort of a warm blanket during chilly chemotherapy treatments speaks volumes about our community's heart. Meanwhile, at Camp Hervida near Waterford, 250 Washington County children are experiencing the increasingly rare gift of a tech-free summer, trading screen time for archery, swimming, and the timeless magic of nightly bonfires under open skies.

🧣 Local dealership brings warmth to cancer patients during difficult treatments. Lou Thomas Subaru in Parkersburg donated about 100 blankets and care packages to the WVU Medicine Cancer Institute at Camden Clark. The blankets help patients who often feel cold during chemotherapy, while care kits include stress balls, colored pencils, and activity books. This marks the sixth consecutive year for the donation through Subaru's Loves to Care program. "We want to show cancer patients that someone out there knows what they are going through and cares," said Thomas.
