Good morning, Meigs County. Broadway's spotlight is shining on one of our own as Parkersburg native Spencer Ross clinched his fourth Tony Award for "Maybe Happy Ending," a musical about robots discovering love. In an industry often fixated on adaptations, Ross's celebration of original storytelling reminds us that innovation still captivates audiences—and that small-town dreamers can make it big on theater's grandest stage.

🎭 Parkersburg native wins fourth Tony with robot love story musical. Spencer Ross earned his latest Tony Award as producer of "Maybe Happy Ending," which claimed six awards including Best Musical at the 78th Tony Awards. The show follows two retired helper-bots in Seoul who unexpectedly discover love and human-like emotions. Ross called this win "the most meaningful" because it champions original musical theater in an era dominated by adaptations. The Parkersburg native encourages hometown aspiring performers to "keep going, because you never know what new role in theater might open up to you."
