Good morning, Meigs County. The fight against polio takes center stage this weekend as the Rotary Club transforms the new Parkersburg Ohio River Trail into a pathway of purpose. Saturday's Father's Day 5K marks the first-ever event on this scenic route, offering participants not just a morning of healthy competition but the chance to contribute to a global health initiative. With special T-shirts for early registrants and awards waiting at the finish line, this race combines community spirit with worldwide impact.

Meanwhile, Wood County is crafting new identities as two elementary schools prepare to open their doors. The proposed "Neale" Riverhawk mascot for Vienna Elementary cleverly preserves heritage while embracing the future, while Lincoln Elementary's blue and green color scheme will unite four merging school communities. And film lovers, take note—the Athena Cinema's special screening of "Mrs. Dalloway" on June 16 offers a poignant way to honor beloved professor Dr. Carey Snyder's literary legacy.
