Good morning, Meigs County. The arts scene is in full bloom across our region this week, with local talent taking center stage. Joyce Boone's captivating animal-inspired artwork has transformed WesBanco Bank into a downtown gallery, showcasing her award-winning graphite, watercolor and ink creations. Meanwhile, Warren High junior Hollyn Reed is preparing for her musical debut at the Ohio Valley Opry this Saturday, sharing the spotlight with the high-energy Higgins Sisters clogging duo for what promises to be an unforgettable performance.

In less harmonious news, a confrontation at a local McDonald's turned violent when Jeremiah Reynolds allegedly harassed two individuals with homophobic slurs before physically assaulting one of them. Restaurant employees intervened during the incident, which began at Taco Bell before escalating at the Ravenswood establishment. Reynolds now faces charges after becoming combative with officers following his arrest โ€“ a stark contrast to the creative expressions enriching our community this week.

Wahama's White Falcons soared over the Calhoun Red Devils 15-6 Tuesday, sending their supporters home with smiles as bright as their 23-4 season record. The Mason squad's offensive fireworks show proved too much for the visiting Red Devils, who limped back to Mt. Zion with their 13th loss of the season. Wahama looks to keep the momentum rolling as they prepare to host the red-hot Gilmer County Titans, fresh off a 17-0 demolition of Wirt County.
