Good morning, Meigs County. The wheels of justice turned steadily in Wood County Magistrate Court last week, processing everything from minor shoplifting to serious fentanyl distribution charges. The stark contrast in bond amounts—ranging from $500 to a whopping $100,000—reflects the spectrum of cases flowing through our local justice system, from suspended licenses to child neglect allegations. Beyond the courthouse, preparations are hopping along for the 15th annual Mid-Ohio Valley Easter Parade, with creative minds already designing their entries for the special bonnet contest.

Sometimes life takes unexpected turns, just ask Belpre High School senior Hanna Richmond. What began as a simple history class video project blossomed into a complete career pivot from music education to film production. Now equipped with skills in Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects, Richmond's journey reminds us that our passions often reveal themselves in surprising moments—and that our region continues producing talented young people ready to make their mark on creative industries.
