Good morning, Marion County. The faces staring back from Crawford County's September mugshot gallery tell a sobering story of our region's criminal landscape. From drug charges to domestic violence cases, these photographs represent pending charges rather than guilt determinations—a visual reminder of the complex legal system at work in our communities and the various paths that lead individuals into its grasp.

In more uplifting news, the Marion Palace Theatre will soon fill with holiday melodies as the Central Ohio Symphony brings its "Sounds of the Season" concert to town for the first time on December 14. This new tradition arrives as the community also remembers the legacy of Cynthia Thornbury Layton, who passed away at 86 after decades of service—from introducing countless children to faith through Good News Clubs to becoming a nurse at age 44, her life exemplified dedication to others until the very end.

Notable charges include sexual offenses, weapons violations, and multiple DUI cases. The mugshots, published by the Crawford County Sheriff's Office, represent pending charges rather than determinations of guilt. Known for introducing countless children to Jesus through Good News Clubs and church programs, she later became a nurse at 44 after years of babysitting local children. She is survived by her siblings, children, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who cherished her devotion to family and community.
