Good morning, Marion County. May is bringing a flurry of activity to our local organizations, with the Public Employee Retirees, Inc. preparing to welcome Ellen Heinz, President & CEO of the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development, as their guest speaker at Golden Corral on May 20. While retirees gather for professional insights, Fort Frye FFA members are celebrating remarkable achievements at the Ohio State Convention, with nine students receiving the prestigious State FFA Degree—an honor bestowed upon only the top 2% of members statewide.
As summer approaches, Stratford Ecological Center is buzzing with preparations for nine weeks of farm camp starting June 2. The program will welcome various age groups from preschoolers to teens, with university students serving as camp interns and older students as counselors in training. Beyond camp activities, the center continues its agricultural operations with hay harvesting and corn planting, while welcoming weekend visitors during the busy camp season.
