🌾 Farm to fireplace

Marion County • March 21, 2025

Good morning, Marion County. The crisp autumn air at Richwood's Grange Hall recently carried the sound of applause as over 350 people gathered for North Union FFA's 57th annual banquet. These celebrations of agricultural excellence have been woven into our community's fabric for generations, recognizing everything from Career Development Events to scholarship recipients. The evening's crowning moment came with the installation of ten new student officers, including President-elect Ben Bonnell, who'll lead the chapter into its next chapter.

For those seeking warmth as cooler weather approaches, Henmick Farm is preparing to host whiskey enthusiasts by the fireplace on March 21. Middle West Spirits will guide visitors through tastings of their specialized whiskeys while food trucks stand ready to complement the experience. It's just one more way Marion County continues to blend tradition with new experiences as we transition into the fall season.

🦅 Trump ally's intelligence nomination sparks concern among Israel supporters. The selection of Col. Daniel Davis as deputy director of national intelligence has alarmed pro-Israel advocates due to his documented hostility toward the Jewish state. This position gives Davis significant influence over the President's Daily Brief, a crucial intelligence document circulated throughout the government. Critics worry this appointment signals the rise of the "woke right" within Trump's administration. However, the article suggests Trump himself still maintains control over U.S. policy direction despite these staffing choices.
