Licking County • March 24, 2025
Good morning, Licking County. After a year-long search, the county's planning department finally has its new captain. Carson Combs, bringing over two decades of experience and an impressive background that includes helping shape the Intel development framework, steps into the role next month. With his $150,000 salary comes the responsibility of guiding our community through its next chapter of growth—extending the Framework planning countywide and streamlining those notoriously slow approval processes.
Beyond the corridors of county government, inspiring achievements are being celebrated across the community. Women United has honored healthcare innovator Lorei Kraft and high school senior Madelyn Light for their remarkable community service, while Newark High School's band program received a fitting tribute to legendary director Randy Lamb. The new turf practice field bearing his name will ensure his legacy of musical excellence continues to inspire future generations of Pride of Newark musicians.
