🏆 Baseball legend legacy

Licking County • March 14, 2025

Good morning, Licking County. The legacy of a local legend will fill Heath High School this weekend as the community gathers to celebrate the remarkable life of Coach Dave Klontz. After 45 seasons, 668 wins, and two state championships, his impact extends far beyond baseball statistics—it's etched in the hearts of generations of Bulldogs. With $10,000 already raised toward a life-size statue honoring the Hall of Fame coach, it's clear his influence will continue to inspire long after his January passing at age 78.

Meanwhile, a different kind of growth is happening at Newark's Tamarack Farms Dairy, where Kroger's impressive $77 million expansion is adding both technology and jobs to our local economy. The new 40,000-square-foot addition introduces aseptic milk processing capabilities—a first for Kroger in the Midwest—that will extend shelf life for products reaching stores this April. From honoring our treasured past to investing in our promising future, Licking County continues to balance tradition and progress.
