Good morning, Jackson County. Tragedy struck our community this weekend with two separate vehicle accidents claiming lives. A 25-year-old Wellston police officer, Matthew Juniper, lost his life in a golf cart collision early Saturday morning, while a separate ATV crash in Mason County's Leon area resulted in another fatality that same day. Both incidents remind us of the fragility of life and the importance of road safety as we move through these final summer weeks.

Amid these sobering events, there's promising economic news as veteran business leader Pat Ford joins the West Virginia Polymer Alliance Zone as Vice President. With over three decades of development experience and recognition from the Wall Street Journal, Ford's appointment to the state's largest regional economic development organization signals potential growth ahead. His expertise in repurposing industrial sites could help create good-paying manufacturing jobs across ten West Virginia counties—a bright spot as our region continues to build toward the future.
