🚧 Icy adventures await

Jackson County • February 26, 2025

Good morning, Jackson County. Mother Nature's been playing a rough game of pinball with Ohio drivers lately, turning our roads into an icy obstacle course. The stats tell the story: thirteen crashes in just five days, with everything from personal vehicles to semi-trucks sliding into unexpected adventures - and yes, even a wayward goose got in on the action. It's the kind of weather that reminds us why winter driving deserves our full attention.

But while some navigate treacherous roads, others are paving paths to brighter futures. WVU Medicine Camden Clark is investing in tomorrow's healthcare heroes with $15,000 in scholarships, and our arts scene is serving up a feast of cultural delights. From Willy Wonka Jr. to wild dinner cruises, this weekend's entertainment lineup proves that even in the depths of winter, our community spirit burns bright.

🚗 Winter weather wreaks havoc on Ohio roads, causing multiple crashes. Over a five-day period in February, the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to thirteen vehicle incidents across multiple townships, with most caused by icy conditions and poor weather. Several drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital. Vehicles ranging from personal cars to a semi-truck were involved in accidents, including collisions with ditches, trees, and even a flying goose. Three drivers were charged with operating their vehicles without reasonable control.
