
🚗 Winter weather wreaks havoc on Ohio roads, causing multiple crashes. Over a five-day period in February, the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to thirteen vehicle incidents across multiple townships, with most caused by icy conditions and poor weather. Several drivers sustained minor injuries and were transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital. Vehicles ranging from personal cars to a semi-truck were involved in accidents, including collisions with ditches, trees, and even a flying goose. Three drivers were charged with operating their vehicles without reasonable control.

🏥 Local hospital offers $15,000 to nurture tomorrow's healthcare heroes. WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center is providing scholarships through its Foundation and Hospital Auxiliary for Mid-Ohio Valley college students pursuing healthcare careers. Two $2,500 Nursing Alumnae scholarships will honor former nursing director Ella Bloomheart and patient Barbara Fonte. Additionally, up to four Leo D. Carsner Memorial Scholarships of $2,500 each will support students in healthcare-related fields. Applications are due April 10, with funds aimed at supporting both new students and currently employed RNs furthering their education.
