🚍 Heartfelt send-off

Jackson County • February 6, 2025

Good morning, Jackson County. Some moments transcend the ordinary and remind us what community truly means. In a touching display of solidarity this week, thirteen school buses formed a solemn procession to honor Brenda Wilcox, a beloved driver who spent 23 years shepherding generations of local children. With black bows adorning their yellow frames, these gentle giants offered one final escort for their fallen colleague, proving that even the most routine parts of daily life can forge extraordinary bonds.

Speaking of extraordinary service, the Vinton County School Board is showing that leadership comes in many forms. From classrooms to boardrooms, five dedicated members were recently recognized for their years of steadfast commitment to our students' futures. Between this and Brenda's memorial, it's clear that education in our community isn't just about lessons and meetings - it's about heart.
