✈️ High-flying dreams

Jackson County • February 4, 2025

Good morning, Jackson County. At just sixteen, Jaiden Vargas is already soaring higher than most adults dream of flying. While her peers are mastering parallel parking, this remarkable Parkersburg South junior is logging flight hours toward her private pilot's license, maintaining a 4.3 GPA, and leading the West Virginia Association of Student Councils - proving that some dreams refuse to stay grounded.

Meanwhile, our community's heart beats in stories of connection and loss: from Dennis's poignant memories of life on Grace Street that echo like scenes from "Mayberry," to the profound impact of Kevin Young, whose passion for healing touched countless lives at Maple Hills. These threads of ambition, nostalgia, and community weave together the fabric of our county's ever-unfolding story.
