🏗 Building memories

Jackson County • January 8, 2025

Good morning, Jackson County. Mother Nature flexed her muscles overnight in Parkersburg, bringing down the old Superior Hyundai-Toyota building in a dramatic display of winter's weight. While the collapsed structure serves as a stark reminder of this season's power, we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief that no one was injured when those snow-laden beams finally gave way.

Meanwhile, life's familiar rhythms continue across our region, from Belpre's police officers dutifully logging traffic stops to the touching farewell of Helen Benson, whose 34 years at Kuppenheimer Manufacturing and devotion to family embodied the best of small-town values. Her legacy, woven through decades of service and love, reminds us that it's not the grandest buildings but the strongest hearts that truly hold our communities together.
