Good morning, Hocking County. Midcentury glassware is experiencing a renaissance right in our backyard, thanks to Dave and Jason Annecy. The husband duo has breathed new life into Gay Fad Studios in Lancaster, transforming our region into a destination for barware enthusiasts and even collaborating with burlesque icon Dita Von Teese. Their retail store, museum, and annual convention honor founder Fran Taylor's pioneering spirit while preserving a sparkling piece of Ohio's creative heritage.
Community resilience shines through in challenging moments, as demonstrated after Saturday's Berne Township Fire Department medic unit collision at Tarkiln Road and U.S. 33. While the vehicle sustained significant damage, we're thankful the firefighters escaped serious injury. In lighter news, history enthusiasts stepped back in time at Lancaster's Frontier Spirit 1799 celebration, where veteran participant Jim Chandler marked his 44th year demonstrating pioneer skills alongside children experiencing colonial traditions firsthand.
