Good morning, Hocking County. A remarkable transformation has unfolded across Southeast Ohio's summer meals program, with 136,000 children receiving nutritional support—five times last year's reach. The innovative take-home meal packs complemented traditional gatherings at local libraries that became vibrant community hubs, ensuring no child went hungry regardless of their ability to attend daily. This expanded approach demonstrates how thoughtful program adjustments can dramatically increase impact in our region.

The Southeast Ohio Foodbank saw a five-fold increase compared to last year, thanks to new take-home meal options alongside traditional eat-in programs. Families in five counties could pick up weekly packs containing seven breakfasts and lunches, ensuring children had access to food even when they couldn't attend daily gatherings. Local libraries continued hosting lunch gatherings that became community hubs for socializing and learning.
