Good morning, Hocking County. A remarkable transformation has unfolded across Southeast Ohio's summer meals program, with 136,000 children receiving nutritional support—five times last year's reach. The innovative take-home meal packs complemented traditional gatherings at local libraries that became vibrant community hubs, ensuring no child went hungry regardless of their ability to attend daily. This expanded approach demonstrates how thoughtful program adjustments can dramatically increase impact in our region.

Fresh talent arrives at OHIO Lancaster as Holly Kidd brings nearly two decades of expertise to her new role as career development coordinator. Her action-oriented coaching promises to help students transform aspirations into practical steps toward professional success. Meanwhile, Judge Cooperrider continues balancing judicial responsibilities with community engagement, recently participating in both Senior Citizens Day celebrations and an Overdose Awareness Walk while managing juvenile cases ranging from probation violations to theft offenses.

🍽️ Summer meals program feeds 136,000 children across Southeast Ohio. The Southeast Ohio Foodbank saw a five-fold increase compared to last year, thanks to new take-home meal options alongside traditional eat-in programs. Families in five counties could pick up weekly packs containing seven breakfasts and lunches, ensuring children had access to food even when they couldn't attend daily gatherings. Local libraries continued hosting lunch gatherings that became community hubs for socializing and learning. "This program provided much-needed nutrition and peace of mind for families," said Alicia Miklos, the food bank director.
