Good morning, Hocking County. In a moment that reminds us of the profound impact split-second decisions can have, Lancaster police officers recently demonstrated extraordinary bravery on Mount Pleasant. Using both high-tech tools and quick thinking, the team coordinated a remarkable rescue of a woman in distress, with Officer Eveland making the crucial approach that ultimately saved a life. Chief Snyder's praise for the team highlights how modern technology and human courage work together in emergency response.

As our community ages, practical support programs are stepping up to meet changing needs. The upcoming CarFit event at Perry County Fairgrounds offers seniors free vehicle checkups to enhance driving safety and comfort—particularly valuable as older adults are projected to represent 25% of licensed drivers by 2030. Meanwhile, bookworms of all ages can rejoice as Perry County District Library launches its summer reading program with enticing prizes including Kings Island tickets for early registrants.
