🏛️ Village vacancy alert

Hocking County • April 11, 2025

Good morning, Hocking County. Zaleski Village is seeking a new council member faster than you can say "local government vacancy." After a health-related resignation, officials are inviting residents to submit their letters of interest before April 14th—just drop them in the water bill box or mail them in. But there's a catch: you must live within village limits to serve your community in this role.

Meanwhile, the Logan-Holl Foundation is making it rain in the best possible way, distributing $32,000 across 12 local organizations from food pantries to fire departments. And as April marks Sexual Assault Awareness Month, it's worth noting the vital 24/7 support services available through Ohio University's Survivor Advocacy Program and the regional Survivor Advocacy Outreach Program—resources that provide everything from crisis intervention to long-term recovery support for survivors throughout Southeast Ohio.
