🏠 Bouncy behemoth

Hocking County • March 31, 2025

Good morning, Hocking County. Move over, world records—Hocking County is about to bounce into the history books! The soon-to-be-certified world's largest bounce house is inflating at Hocking Hills Family Fun Center, covering a jaw-dropping three football fields. This massive four-acre bouncy paradise dwarfs the previous record holder and welcomes bouncers from "walking to 99" years old, proving that sometimes the biggest thrills come with the springiest steps.

Meanwhile, as election season approaches, Ohio officials are taking proactive measures after discovering an unauthorized voter check-in tablet in nearby Perry County. Secretary of State Frank LaRose has ordered counties using similar systems to switch to paper backups for May's election, though officials emphasize voting equipment remains secure. The Hocking County Health Department is also making headlines by enlisting local youth to expose deceptive tobacco marketing tactics in a new awareness campaign.

🗳️ Ohio investigates unauthorized election device in Perry County. Secretary of State Frank LaRose launched an investigation into a voter check-in tablet that violates state security standards. The device, an electronic pollbook used to check in voters at polling locations, has not yet been deployed in any election. As a precaution, LaRose ordered a review of all voter check-in systems and directed counties using similar pollbooks to use paper backups for the May election. Officials emphasize that electronic pollbooks are never connected to voting or tabulation equipment, so election security remains intact.
