Good morning, Hamilton County. October is serving up a feast of seasonal delights across Cincinnati this week. UC's English department is tapping into the Halloween spirit with a spooky "Hike + Write" event at Caldwell Nature Preserve, inviting writers to explore nature's "hauntings" while honing their craft. Meanwhile, the city's taste buds are celebrating as Cincinnati Taco Week rolls out $2.50 specials at nearly 50 restaurants citywide—download the app, visit five spots, and you could win a $500 gift card plus merchandise from sponsors.

Literary romantics have reason to celebrate as Poor Charlotte's Books prepares to open its doors on October 25 in Covington. Owner Leslie Schicht's vision for Cincinnati's first romance bookstore promises a diverse collection focused on joy and inspiration—"nothing too heavy"—in a space that "centers what you love." With free registration for the nature hike, affordable tacos, and a new haven for romance readers, autumn in Hamilton County is looking particularly enchanting.
