Good morning, Hamilton County. In the wake of devastating news from Minneapolis, our community joins others nationwide in mourning the senseless tragedy at Annunciation Catholic School. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has extended solidarity to those affected by Wednesday's shooting that claimed young lives and left many injured—a stark reminder of how violence can shatter the sanctity of spaces meant for learning and worship.

On a brighter note, the University of Cincinnati continues to position itself at the forefront of both arts and innovation. Award-winning filmmaker Nelson Carlo de los Santos Arias brings his surreal, Silver Bear-winning film "Pepe" to campus next week, while a substantial $500,000 grant launches the Midwest's first center dedicated to ethical AI development. The new Center for Explainable, Ethical, and Trustworthy AI will tackle pressing questions about technology's role in our society—work that feels increasingly vital in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape.
