Good morning, Hamilton County. The mercury is climbing to dangerous heights as Cincinnati braces for a scorching heat dome that will push temperatures into the 90s with heat index values soaring past 100 degrees. The National Weather Service isn't mincing words with their hazardous weather outlook, warning that this weekend's conditions could lead to heat stroke and exhaustion. Monday's forecasted high of 97 degrees suggests we're in for a seriously sweaty start to next week.

Amid the heat wave, the region is buzzing with Juneteenth celebrations that showcase Cincinnati's vibrant spirit. From the Urban League's festivities to the Freedom Center's cultural programming, multiple venues are honoring this important holiday through concerts, block parties, and community gatherings. Meanwhile, in a dramatic turn of events, Cincinnati firefighters executed a swift water rescue Wednesday night, saving two people and their dogs who were clinging to a concrete wall under a bridge during high water in Oakley.
