Good morning, Hamilton County. Three decades of illuminating America's painful journey toward freedom deserves celebration. The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center has welcomed 2.5 million visitors since opening on the symbolic banks of the Ohio River in 2004. This May, they'll mark their 30th anniversary with a weekend-long Freedom Festival, unveiling their first new permanent exhibit in 15 years - "In This Place" - which explores the historic significance of a location where many enslaved people first reached free soil.

In less uplifting news, Cincinnati police are investigating after a 16-year-old boy was shot near the University of Cincinnati campus early Sunday morning. Officers responded to Glendora Avenue in Corryville around 2:45 a.m., finding the teenager with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. No suspects have been identified as the investigation continues into what caused the early morning incident.
