🌮 Latino fiesta returns

Good morning, Hamilton County. Mark your calendars for May 2025! Fountain Square will once again transform into a vibrant celebration of Latino heritage when Cincy-Cinco returns for its 20+ year tradition of music, food, and cultural festivities. Meanwhile, Cincinnati's night owls and early birds should take note—the Lytle Tunnel is closing overnight this week for maintenance, with northbound lanes shutting down Wednesday and Thursday, followed by southbound closures Friday and Saturday.

While detour signs will guide drivers around these temporary roadblocks, UC engineers are focused on breaking barriers of a different kind. In the university's Hypersonics Lab, Professor Khare and his students are tackling the extreme challenges of flight at Mach 5—where temperatures soar to 2,700 degrees and conventional physics gets weird. Their cutting-edge research could revolutionize aerospace technology while opening promising career paths for students fascinated by pushing the boundaries of flight.
