Good morning, Geauga County. In the quiet hallways of Orchard Middle School, an extraordinary legacy lives on through the Cole Zelwin Kindness Award, recently presented to 12-year-old Luke Berk who humbly insists he "didn't do anything special." Yet this touching recognition—honoring Cole's memory after his battle with leukemia—reminds us how profound kindness can be when woven into everyday actions. The ripple effects of one child's life continue to inspire an entire community to "use force for good."

The landscape of Northeast Ohio business is transforming as Millennium unveils its massive 115,000-square-foot headquarters in Beachwood, promising 40 new jobs and $2 million in community enhancements. Meanwhile, nature enthusiasts will soon have a new haven as Carrollton transforms nearly 14 acres into Village Park Woods, preserving streams and wetlands while creating walking trails where the community can connect with nature's quiet wisdom.

🏆 Kindness award honors legacy of 11-year-old who died from leukemia. Luke Berk, a rising seventh grader, received the Cole Zelwin Kindness Award from Orchard Middle School in Solon, recognizing students who exemplify kindness like his late best friend and soccer teammate. "I didn't do anything special," said 12-year-old Luke, who believes Cole inspired him to spread kindness and "use my force for good." The award, established in 2023 after Cole's death from acute myeloid leukemia, was also presented to fifth-grader Logan Smith, helping ensure Cole's memory lives on through the Cole Zelwin Foundation.
