Good morning, Geauga County. A staggering $11 million just changed hands for a Lyndhurst assisted-living facility, highlighting significant movement in Cleveland's healthcare real estate market. The sale of The Greens Nursing & Rehab Center topped Crain's Cleveland Business's most-read list, demonstrating our community's keen interest in local commercial developments. Meanwhile, South Euclid voters are facing five charter amendments this November, including a controversial proposal that would eliminate the requirement for police officers to be physically present when issuing photo traffic enforcement tickets—potentially reversing a citizen decision made over a decade ago.

Sometimes desperation leads to bizarre decisions, as demonstrated by the 40-year-old Amherst man who allegedly swallowed drugs during his arrest for stealing underwear at Target. After being caught with $96 worth of merchandise, the suspect's attempt to destroy evidence by ingestion earned him not only theft charges but an additional tampering charge—proving once again that panic rarely improves an already bad situation.

📜 South Euclid voters face five charter changes this November. The city's Charter Review Commission has proposed amendments that would allow mayors limited outside employment, change when council presidents can serve as acting mayor, and reduce signature requirements for election candidates. Another proposal would eliminate the requirement for police officers to be physically present when issuing photo traffic enforcement tickets—reversing a 2011 voter decision that opposed automated enforcement. The ten-member commission began its work in February as part of the mandatory once-per-decade charter review process.
