Good morning, Geauga County. The final chapter of Notre Dame College's 101-year history is unfolding like a financial thriller, with $20.5 million in debt, multiple lawsuits, and allegations that officials misappropriated $2.1 million in restricted donations. Bank of America has stepped in seeking foreclosure on college property, while former faculty—now among 160 educators left jobless—pursue legal action claiming officials could have prevented the institution's demise.

Meanwhile, the laws of physics made a dramatic appearance on state Route 2 when a two-vehicle collision sent one car flying through the median barrier and onto East 305th Street below. In lighter news, Orange High School's pool became the scene of friendly competition as nearly 80 students raced homemade cardboard vessels across water. The Flying Penguins team captured victory with their creative craft, completing the course in just 1 minute, 23 seconds—proving sometimes the simplest materials inspire the greatest ingenuity.
