Good morning, Geauga County. The green fairways of Cleveland's Highland Park Golf Course are showing more than just well-manicured grass these days—they're displaying impressive financial recovery. The city-owned 36-hole course has slashed its deficit by nearly half a million dollars since 2021, with a new Topgolf-style driving range teeing up in August that could help the facility reach profitability by 2026. It seems Cleveland's golfers are putting their money where their passion is.

Meanwhile, lifesaving technology gets a crucial upgrade as Mentor police cruisers now carry six new AEDs thanks to the local Rotary Club's generosity. And the community mourns the peaceful passing of Nicholas Vizy, whose journey from Hungarian immigrant to dedicated family man and CEI lineman exemplifies the quiet strength found in so many of our neighbors. His memorial service is set for May 17 at Burr Funeral Home in Chardon.
