Monday brings critical hunger relief to Krodel Park, where Facing Hunger Foodbank's mobile distribution aims to serve over 150 households facing food insecurity. In less uplifting news, a 47-year-old Ashton man will spend the next five years behind bars after being sentenced for malicious burning, with the court ordering substantial restitution for damages caused to someone else's property.

🇺🇸 Small-town auxiliary unit makes national history with six prestigious awards. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 23 of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, has been recognized nationally for outstanding programming in Public Relations, National Security, Junior Activities, Education, Poppy Program, and Leadership. The achievement reflects countless hours of service dedicated to honoring veterans, supporting military families, and strengthening their community. 🍲 Hunger relief arrives Monday at Point Pleasant's Krodel Park. Facing Hunger Foodbank will host a drive-thru mobile food distribution from 11 a.m. to noon, aiming to serve over 150 households on a first-come, first-served basis. The initiative addresses significant food insecurity in Mason County, where 16% of residents - including 22% of children - struggle to access adequate nutrition. This critical service provides essential support to vulnerable community members as part of ongoing hunger relief efforts in West Virginia.
🔥 Ashton man gets 5 years for torching someone else's land. Curtis J. Kimble, 47, was sentenced by Judge R. Craig Tatterson for felony willful/malicious burning in Mason County, West Virginia. Along with prison time, the court ordered Kimble to pay $26,000 in restitution for damages caused. The case was investigated by West Virginia Deputy State Fire Marshal J. Baltic and prosecuted by Mason County Prosecutor Seth Gaskins.
