The unmistakable rumble of classic engines transformed downtown Point Pleasant this weekend as more than 200 vintage and modern vehicles lined the streets for the 8th Annual Main Street Car Show. From gleaming Fords to showstopping Mopars, automotive history was on full display while 75 proud owners drove home with trophies—a testament to the enduring love affair our region has with American car culture.
Just as wheels roll through Point Pleasant, paddles will soon churn the Ohio River during the historic Pomeroy Sternwheel Regatta next month. While riverboats prepare for their September showcase, Mason County officials are making waves of their own—celebrating 4-H youth leadership, supporting senior nutrition programs, and directing $250,000 toward critical water infrastructure projects that will flow benefits to residents for generations to come.

🏛️ Mason County Commission tackles major water projects and community services. Commissioners heard from 4-H royalty representatives who will appear at the upcoming county fair, celebrating their leadership and community service. The Mason County Action Group detailed their senior services including nutrition programs and in-home care. Officials presented a $10,000 check to the State Farm Museum while the Public Service District outlined 10 ARPA-funded water projects and requested $250,000 for engineering reports on five additional infrastructure initiatives. The commission also approved new EMS hires and discussed allowing recreational activities at the local horse park.
🚗 Classic cars took over Point Pleasant for the 8th Annual Main Street Show. Over 200 vehicles lined the downtown area on Saturday, showcasing a wide variety of automotive styles from vintage to modern.
